When a tooth needs to be removed, patients can schedule a tooth extraction at Clear Dental. Though our dentists and team avoid tooth removal whenever possible, sometimes there is no other way to solve a patient’s problem. Common reasons why patients may need to schedule an extraction include:
- Infection: These can include gum disease and other disorders that affect large areas of the mouth, from soft tissue to dental enamel and even bone. If too much of this tissue has been destroyed, our dentist may need to remove the tooth.
- Tooth Decay: If decay has infected much of the tooth, often our dentists will try to save the tooth with a root canal or other endodontic procedure. However, if this is not enough, our dentists will instead remove the tooth and help you plan a restoration.
- Orthodontic Issues: Overcrowding can prevent the teeth from erupting properly, interfere with a person’s bite, and even pose a risk to their dental health. In these cases, our dentists may ask a patient to schedule a tooth extraction in Anchorage, Alaska.
